Prayers for a stronger faith

For seasons when faith feels strong and for seasons of doubt. These prayers ask God to draw you closer, with verses about trust.

Strength to practice faith

But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.Isaiah 40:31 (World English Bible)

Jesus, strengthen my faith through the ordinary choices of this day. Help me make room for prayer, listen to Scripture, and put love into action. Keep me patient with growth and willing to learn from people whose lives reflect Your care.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A steady practice of trust

But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.Isaiah 40:31 (World English Bible)

Lord, give me strength to turn toward You with honesty. Support the small practices that help faith grow: attention, prayer, service, and community. Let consistency be gentle rather than punishing. Keep my heart willing to receive what You teach me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith that learns to listen

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.James 1:5 (World English Bible)

Jesus, show me how to listen for what is true and good. Guide my understanding of faith beyond habit or appearances. Help me seek thoughtful counsel and test what I hear with humility. Lead me into a life that reflects Your love.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith held in tenderness

I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.Hebrews 13:5 (World English Bible)

Lord, comfort me as I turn toward You. Help me receive faith as a relationship in which I can be known and cared for. Let honest prayer and thoughtful company support me. Draw me toward practices that deepen love rather than pressure.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Gratitude for a growing faith

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.1 Thessalonians 5:18 (World English Bible)

Father, thank You for every step toward a more honest and loving faith. I am grateful for the questions that invite learning and the examples that encourage care. Help me receive understanding humbly. Let my thanks become patience, service, and a willingness to keep listening.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Help my unbelief

I believe. Help my unbelief!Mark 9:24 (World English Bible)

Jesus, my faith feels thin right now. I have questions I can’t answer.

I bring You what faith I have, even if it is small. Meet me here. Strengthen what is weak, and let me sense again that You are real and You are good.

In Your name, Amen.

Peace as I turn toward You

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.John 14:27 (World English Bible)

God, meet me in the questions and hopes I bring about faith. Give me peace to approach You honestly. Let prayer become a place of attention rather than performance. Help me remain open to Scripture, good counsel, and the quiet practice of trust.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Resting in Your welcome

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.John 14:27 (World English Bible)

Jesus, I bring my faith before You as it is today. Let Your welcome settle my heart. Help me release the need to impress You and make room to listen. May peace grow through a simple, honest relationship with You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
